Mamie M. McKean, 94, of Decatur, IL passed away on Friday (April 15, 2011) at McKinley Court Nursing Home.
 
A service to celebrate Mamie’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday (April 23, 2011) at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Decatur Memorial Hospital Cancer Center. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
 
Mrs. McKean was born on September 7, 1916 in Hartshorn, MO, the daughter of David A. and Bertha (Barton) Berry. During WWII she worked at Firestone Tire Company then cleaned hotels in Florida and Decatur and later worked at Lithographic in Macon. She was a member of South Shores Christian Church. Mamie married Cecil David McKean on July 18, 1932. He preceded her in death on June 8, 1979.
 
Surviving is her son: Cecil Edward McKean of Decatur, IL; sister: Viola Lowery of Missouri; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 
Mamie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter: Dorothy, son: Raymond, grandson: Jeff and granddaughter: Malia.
